Hinamori Amu

"Naritai atashi"

"AAH! Dia! I can't take anymore! I think we've practiced enough!" I wailed and my head was spinning. We sang until five P.M yesterday at school practicing. Then we stayed up 'till two A.M singing. And we're still singing.

"Amu-chan! Practice makes perfect!" Dia said severely.

"You being too intense, Dia. I think I practiced and sang the songs enough. I know them by heart now," I told her,

"Dia, you're making a bigger deal of out this than it is, desu~" Suu said, putting her hands on Dia's shoulders.

"No! Amu-chan must practice!" she insisted.
"
Maybe," Miki came floated by at her side, her eyes narrowing "that you are doing this, just for the character changes?"

My eyes, Ran's eyes and Suu's eyes
widened in surprising. For a while we stared at her accusingly.

"Okay! Okay! I admit! Part of it is because of the character changes!"

"Well, we memorized the singing now we need the food, the activities and the clothes," I trailed off.

"Amu-chan?" Miki asked.
"I forgot to pick something to wear! Not only for the Ball, but three costumes for my songs too!" I cried.

"Amu-chan. Do you forget who I am?" Miki demanded in a serious voice.

"Eh?"

"I am Miki. Amu-chan's would-be self. I am good at helping you with fashion choices. Gimme credit."

"Ok," I replied smiling.

"Now what time of dress do you want for the ball?" she inquired when she got out a pencil and her art book.

"Well, I want it similar to Amulet Diamond but I want it to have the frills of Amulet Spade's outfit. If possible make it purple with gold highlights."

As I was saying this Miki was drawing. "How 'bout this?" She showed me the picture of the dress. It was an exact replica of Amulet Diamond's dress however, the sleeves, the end of the skirt part were frilly like Amulet Spades outfit.

"It's pretty Miki! I love it! Thank you! I'm definitely wearing that!" I cried.

"Thanks, Amu-chan!"

"Well Dia and Miki's work are done. Me and Suu still have things to do," Ran spoke.

"Like what?" I blinked perplexed.
"I can give a list of activities for the Ball and Suu and you can bake the food with Nagihiko," Ran answered.

I nodded. "Okay. Suu, let's go!"
"Yes, desu~"

DAL- Ireine said...

"Nagihiko!" I called.
"Ah, Amu-chan! What can I help you with?" he offered.

"Remember as Nadeshiko, you always used to bake with me?" I reminded.
He nodded reluctantly. Lately, when people mention Nadeshiko he gets all weird.

"Well, I was wondering. Suu and I can make the food for the Ball and I was thinking if you could help us, as well," I explained.

"Amu-chan. . . . I-"
"Not as Nadeshiko but as Nagihiko."

"Alright, Amu-chan. You get the kitchen ready. I'll be there after I clean up these boxes and get rid of these Seiyo Ball fliers."
"Ok, see you!" I ran off to the kitchen.

"What are we making Suu?" I asked after I got the kitchen ready. I was putting on my apron.

"We need beverages, pastries, appetizers and snacks, desu~" she replied.
"Okay beverages, say about five kinds?"

"Yes, desu~"
"Okay so fruit punch, um, what else?"

"What about these?" Suu gestured in a beverage book.
There was fruit punch, lemonade, smoothies, milkshakes and soda.

"Let's do these," I agreed.
When we finished the sodas, Nagihiko came in wearing an apron.
"Amu-chan I see you've already made the drinks," he said coming in.

"Yup, Suu helped me. Now we're moving on to appetizers and snacks."
He took the booklet from my hands. "I'll do those. You and Suu do the pastries."

"O-okay!" I stammered.

"Amu-chan, let's make tarts, cookies, cupcakes and of course three big humongous cakes!" Suu cried enthusiastically.

"Hey, I didn't think tarts and cookies counted as pastries. Is it just me or do you want to eat them?" I accused her crossing my arms.

She giggled. "Sorry, Amu-chan."
I smiled. "Let's get to work!"
"Yeah!"

"Go! Go! Tadase hang those lanterns high!" Ran chanted.

Me and Suu had finished baking with Nagihiko and Ran had been helping Kukai, Kairi, Yaya, Rima and Tadase with the gym by cheering for them and suggesting new activities.

"Eh? Ran, where's Miki and Dia?" I questioned her.
"Ah! Amu-chan!" she sang and floated over to me to caress my face.

"Whoa! What's with you?"
"I missed you. All of these guys were a drag," she pouted.

"Dia and Miki?" I pressed.
"Miki's sketching three outfits for each guardian, including Kairi and Kukai. Dia's giving her opinion on which of the three outfits for each person would look best."

"Ah," I said in an uninterested tone.
"Oi, Ami-chi! Have you been slumming all day?" Yaya pouted, as she climbed a latter.

"What about you Yaya?" I talked back, smirking.
"It's in Yaya's character!" she protested. "Anyways, you're the Joker with four eggs. The 'Cool & Spicy' Hinamori Amu that everyone loves. Cut us slack and help out with moving things around."

"Humph!" They had no idea how Dia drove me today.
"I can fix that," Ran offered.
This time a smirk was place on Yaya's face.
"No way, you're not thinking of-"
"Character change: Hop! Step! Jump!"

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed. My body was moving involuntarily around the gym, placing furniture and decorations every which way and that.

When the whole gym was placed around, I was out of breath.
"That's what I call good work. Good job," Kukai high fived Yaya.

"Don't take all the credit! I'm the one who did all this! All you guys did was put away boxes, move tables around and hang lanterns and garlands!" I yelled annoyed.

Everyone laughed.

"It is not funny!" I insisted.
"Hue, hue, hue are you sure about that?" Kusu Kusu snickered. Ran and Suu giggled along with her.
"Amu, you have to admit it is kinda of funny," Rima giggled.

"You wanna know what's funny, Rima? Payback!" I whispered, a fire in my eyes.
"Payback. . . .?"
"Rima, Kusu Kusu! Do the usual!" I shouted.
Kusu Kusu snickered and a star and raindrop appeared under Rima's eyes.

"Balancing Balance!" she and Kusu Kusu cried.
Every single person in the gym and their guardian characters burst into roars of laughter.

Rima blushed crimson red.
"Hey, Amu!"
"Told you payback was funny," I laughed.
"Character change: Hop! Step! Jump!"
Little angel wing accessories appeared at my ankles and wrists and soared in the air.

"Amu! Come back down here! If you don't, I'll transform into Clown Drop and beat you up with my bowling pins!" she threatened still blushing.

"That's what you would call a good relationship between best friends," Kukai joked.
"Kukai!" Rima growled.

He only laughed more.
While Rima and Kukai were battling, I walked up to Kairi.
"Hey, Iinchou? I need your help!" I pleaded.

"Jo-Joker. . . ." he stammered.
Musashi stared at us.
"Wait a minute. . . ." Kairi began when he collected himself. "Did you say, you needed my help?"

"That's right," I said nodding.
Flushed he asked "What is it?"
I took his hand. He blushed bright pink.

"Come with me, I'll show you!"
We ran out of the gym, with our guardian characters following us.
