"Would you care to repeat that?" Utau asked me incredulously. Smirking I said "Hinamori Amu, is challenging you at the Seiyo Ball." "Sorry, but did you speak right? I think I might have hearing problems," Utau muttered to herself.
"Utau, I'm not kidding," I regarded her seriously. She sighed. "Alright, I believe you. What is this challenge you speak of Ikuto?"
"She singing," I answered. Utau choked on the gust of air she was breathing. "Hinamori Amu, is singing?" "Yup," I said simply.
"How?" Utau demanded, still dumbstruck. I smirked. "Apparently, she's going to character change with Dia, while singing."
"I have to be there to see that!" she slammed the table. "Hey, be careful on the furniture. They have feelings too," I stroked the table soothingly. She grumbled. "So what, I have to sing too?"
"Apparently yes. I don't see how she can beat you though," I sighed for Utau's benefit.
"You can tell Hinamori Amu then, I accept her challenge. That she should also tell her school and the press. Ha! Ha! I will beat you Amu and win Ikuto's love!" she cried, a foot on the table, a hand on her waist, making a fist in the air.
There was a fire in my sister's amethyst eyes you couldn't doubt. "She's having a mouthful," Iru said, staring at Utau in shock. "Da nya," Yoru agreed snickering. "Utau-chan. . . ." Eru shook her head. "Let's go, Yoru," I finally spoke, breaking the guardian characters' little meeting.
"Okay, da nya." I leaped over buildings and suddenly heard a voice. "Kazuomi-sama are you sure you want to launch this attack?" a voice asked.
"Yes," Kazuomi answered. "With still many 'X' eggs in stock we'll make that and we'll launch it at Seiyo Academy, and they'll be totally surprised." "Y-yes, sir!" the voice answered and then left.
I realized I was on the Easter building. Dad. . . . what was he planning. He planned to destroy the Seiyo Ball? No, that couldn't be it. "Ikuto, where are we going, da nya?" Yoru asked me.
I smirked. "I'm going to pay Amu visit," and leaped into the night.
I stood on my balcony, wrapped in a towel, my damp hair brushed. An eastern wind blew in my face. It felt nice.
"The moon is full. . . ." I murmured. "Amu-chan, look at my drawing," Miki squealed. I rested a finger on the sheet of paper she held.
"Amulet Heart, Amulet Spade, Amulet Clover, Amulet Diamond, Amulet Angel, Amulet Devil. . . . they all look close," I remarked.
That's because they're best friends, desu~" Suu explained. I smiled. "Thanks guys." I turned towards the moon.
Unexpectedly, Ikuto's head popped out of nowhere. "You mumbling again?"
"AAH!" I screamed. "IT'S JUST LIKE THAT TIME!" "Amu-chan, what's going on?" my mom's voice called from downstairs.
"N-nothing!" I replied. I turned towards Ikuto. "Stop sneaking up on me like that!" I hissed.
"I see your breasts have grown," he stared at my chest. "AAH!" I screamed. "Pervert! Pervert! Pervert! Don't look!"
I locked my window and drawn the curtains. I changed into pajamas, quickly.
I unlocked the window. He took me in, fully dressed. "I thought you'd be in a towel for a while longer," he spoke in a disappointed tone.
"Ikuto!" I said in a deadly tone. He smirked. "So?"
"Utau accepted," he answered. "Dia! Utau accepted!" I cried. "Yes!" she hissed. "We've got to practice," I whispered.
Ran, Miki and Suu went downstairs. "Ikuto's here," Dia whispered back. I went back to Ikuto. "Do you mind if you stay out here for a while?" "Not really," he answered. "Okay!" I closed my window and faced Dia to tell her something.
"Dia, let's do a character change!" "Amu-chan, are you being serious?" Dia's eyes were wide with incredulity.
"Yeah! Let's practice singing together, ok?" I winked. "But why can't Ran, Miki and Suu be here to watch you?" she demanded.
I shook my head. Best friends already. "It's a secret," I whispered, putting a finger on my lips. She smiled. "Okay. Let's do this, Amu-chan!"

The next morning when I woke up, the previous night came back to my awareness, and I pretty much was blushing like crazy all morning.
Dia and I were very careful of not doing a character change together, and sing.
We knew that we would have to practice, practice, practice until Friday night.
When I arrived at school I asked the Guardians if I could borrow an empty classroom for practicing with Dia. I told them, Suu could help them with the food, Miki with the planning and Ran could. . . . cheer people on.
When Dia and I found our empty class room we talked about which songs I was going to sing.
"Well, I think Utau's going to Black Diamond, Blue Moon and Meikyuu Butterfly," I informed Dia.
"Well, Amu-chan I think we should sing the song you sang on the balcony that other night and the song I sang Tuesday morning," Dia suggested,
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I like those songs." "However, if Utau's going to have three songs, so should we," Dia eventually pointed out.
An idea came to mind. "I think, I got the idea, Dia!" "You do?" "Do a character change with me!" I commanded. "Character change: Twinkle! Sparkle! Shine!"
"Amu-chan, calm down. Act natural. As if nothing happened," Dia soothed me.
"'Kay," I agreed, but that hysterical feeling was knotting in the pit of my stomach.
"Hinamori- Ah! Hinamori-san, you are in here! I was just going to look for you to tell you the classroom is available, but you're already in here," he told me smiling.
"I guess so," my voice trembled and I started sweating. He noticed something strange.
"Hinamori-san?" "Um, it's nothing! Bye now!" I waved trying to get him out of the room.
"O-kay. . . ." and closed the door. I sighed in relief. "That was close. . . ." "Amu-chan, shall we resume?" Dia asked me coming out of her hiding spot.
"Y-yeah, let's go," I replied nervously. "Deep breaths, Amu-chan," Dia said calmly. I took three deep breaths. "Okay, I'm ready for a character change." "Character change: Twinkle! Sparkle! Shine!"
"Naitari warattari mou hitori no jibun Itsu datte atashi ni genki wo kureru

"I guess that's the end of the song," Dia sighed when I was done. "I guess so. . . . but practice makes perfect right?" I smiled encouragingly.
She nodded, a serious expression on her face.
For the rest of the day, Dia and character changed and practiced all the songs I was going to sing. Somehow I had a feeling somewhere Utau was singing too.
