Chapter 3 - The War of Love Has Started

Hinamori Amu

"Amu-chan! Wake up! Time for school!" "Go! Amu-chan! Wake up!" Ran chanted.

"Amu-chan gets up,"
Miki murmured calmly.

"Amu-chan, I can make you a nice breakfast, desu~" I heard Suu offer.

"Amu-chan~! Let me sing you awake~!" Dia's melodic voice squealed.

"Go! Go! Dia! Sing, Amu-chan awake!" Ran cheered, not knowing that didn't make sense.
"Yes! I will~!" she squealed.

"Life is a precious flower,
Who's petals fall day by day.
A warm breeze from the wind,
Flies by and blows them in the sky.
Bright pink in contrast
with sky blue
Is a beautiful sight, you'll see,
More beautiful than anyone's diamond.
Shining with an honorable radiance,
Good morning world!
Breathless sights,
Heartbreaking melodies,
Tender fragrances,
Sweet tastes,
Warm touches,
Belong here into my heart.
My heart beats.
Controls the rhythm of music,
As I shine against the morning sky.
Fall, winter, spring, summer.
I can senses wonderful futures and memories during those times with you.
The wind whispering sing louder than ever,
The world is in your hands.
Good morning world~!"

I heard gasps and just like me I was amazed by Dia's voice. It was beautiful.

"Dia. . . ." I was breath-taken.

"Wow! Amazing Dia!" Ran cried.

"Yes, it was," Miki agreed.
"
Did you make that song up, just now, desu~?" Suu asked.

Dia shook her head. "Amu-chan, do you remember what Iru and Eru said about them still existing, because Utau still has songs in her heart? Songs that belong to her and no on else?" she asked me directly.

I nodded, still speechless.

"That song, was Amu-chan's. Just like Utau, because of me your would-be self who is talented in music and singing has not faded away because I have songs you heart still has to sing. Songs only you can sing, Amu-chan," she explained.

"Dia. . . ." my voice broke.

"One day when we do a character change, I'll make you sing that song. You'll see that when you sing it, your voice will be prettier than mine. Alright, Amu-chan?" she giggled.

I tried laughing but it came out as a cough, due to my voice breaking. "Sure, Dia."

"Amu-chan!" my three other guardian characters cried.

"I'd better get ready for school. We have a lot to do," I said and pulled the covers off of me and jumped out of bed.

I got dressed, into my famous school uniform and this time I wanted to try something different with my hair. Instead, I tied in a ponytail with the same cross hair clips.

As soon as I was finished I put on my "Cool & Spicy" character and headed downstairs.
"Amu-chan, breakfast!" my mom called.
"Onee-chan! Onee-chan! Look at my new dance move!" Ami cried. She did a bad imitation of a poorly choreographed twirl.

"That's. . . . good, Ami," I finished lamely.

"Onee-chan do you think Utau-chan will put into her next music video with me in it?!" she squealed.
Image"I'm sure, Ami."
Then when I finished breakfast, I headed off to school.

“Amu!"

"Rima, hey! What's up?" I asked her as she ran from her car to greet me. Kusu Kusu floated at her side.

"So, Miss-Evil-Joker-Who-Stole-
My-Place-As-Seiyo-Empress, guess who has the most votes now and is having a voting challenge?" she told me, once she was at my side, her gold eyes dancing.

"Who?" I guessed completely clueless, since her next response almost caused me a heart attack.
"Nagihiko and Tadase!" Rima cried.
"What?!" I spluttered.
"It's a tie between them both. Nagihiko got at least five more votes and tied with Tadase just in time!" she continued.

"No way. . . ." I mumbled.
"Let's go to the gym. We still a lot to do," Rima motioned towards the gym entrance.
"'Kay!" I nodded and followed her.
"Amu-chan's getting stressed out," Ran noted.

"Why?" Kusu Kusu asked.
"The battle for the Seiyo Emperor is getting to her," Dia squealed.
"Poor, Amu-chan desu~"

We entered the gym and Tadase, Yaya and Nagihiko were hanging up lanterns.
"I thought this was a dance, not a festival," I said in a joking tone.
"Amu-chi, you've finally arrived! Yaya doesn't like being alone with boys. They go all boring in minutes," Yaya complained.

I giggled.

"Hinamori-san could you help me
with these lanterns?"

"Amu-chan, could you help me with these garlands?"

Nagihiko and Tadase stared at each other with unhappy expressions when they realized they asked me together.

"Here, we'll help you," Yaya and Rima said in perfect synchronization, rolling their eyes.

I couldn't help but smile.
"Amu-chi, could you take those empty boxes and put them in the shed behind the gym please?" Yaya asked me while her hung a lantern that Tadase was holding.

"Um, sure," I answered taking numerous humongous boxes in my hands. Suu, Dia, Miki and Ran took one big box and all of them held it together.
"Oi, Hinamori!"
"Joker!"

At the sound of those voices I dropped everything I had in my hands.

Kukai was standing there in his middle school uniform with a broad grin on his face, Daichi at his side doing a thumb up. Kairi, stood beside him his face flushing slightly and half of a smile. He wore a strange plain green uniform.

Musashi was at his side, nodding in approval.

"Iinchou?! Kukai?!" I hadn't seen these guys in decades.
"Who else do you think it could be?" Kukai asked in a joking tone.
"Iinchou! Kukai!" I cried and jumped into their arms, tearing up. I swear to god, when I am happy my "Cool & Spicy" character rebels against it.

They sucked in sharp breaths, clearly startled by my actions.
"I thought, I'd never see you guys again," I sighed.
Kukai scoffed. "You were a joker once upon a time? Whatever, happened to 'try your best' and 'don't give up'?"
"Jo-joker. . . ." Kairi stuttered.

I realized I was still in their arms hugging them and many boxes were scattered on the ground.
I looked up at Kairi and Kukai. They were blushing, avoiding eye contact with me. They were blushing.

I got up and their grips on me, were gone.
"Oops," I mouthed, flushing.
"Amu-chi. . . ."
"Amu. . . ."
"Amu-chan. . . ."
"Hinamori-san. . . ."

I stared at the boxes to my fellow guardians. They wore ominous expressions. Adrenaline pulsed through my veins and my first instinct was to run away.

Was it just me or did Nagihiko and Tadase look, well, mad? At Kukai and Kairi. No way. No way possible.
"I'll get right on it!" I squeaked.
Walking towards the boxes, who were at their feet my instincts were yelling at me 'Run away!

They'll kill you!'
All of them went inside, the boys glaring at each other, for heaven knows what reason.

I put the boxes in the shed, as I walked back to the gym entrance Dia and Suu were teasing me, while Miki and Ran looked smug. I mean your guardian characters would be upset if you ran into the wrong set of arms of the one you loved when their guardians characters weren't the ones you loved right?

Or maybe, I should repeat that question. Image

"You should've seen their faces when you jumped into their arms, Amu-chan desu~!" Suu cried.

"Yeah! They were blushing like crazy!" Dia giggled.
I groaned. "Shut up!"
"Yeah, Amu why'd you run into their arms?" another voice asked me.

I looked up and saw Ikuto, the certain cat boy with Yoru at at his side. He jumped down from the tree, looking murderously jealous.
"Oh great! Miniature cat boy's back," Dia said sarcastically.
Yoru hissed at her.

Ever since, she hatched, Yoru and Dia never got along well. Yoru commented her on how 'hotter' she looked in her purified form and Ikuto suggested maybe it's because I looked hot. Since then Dia called him 'Miniature Cat Boy, Perverted-Cat-Ears-Cosplay-Guy's servant.'

"None of your business, stupid perverted alley cat," I snarled under my breath.
"Amu, you don't want me to do this, so I advise you, to answer my question," he murmured huskily, his voice threatening.

I blinked. "Do what?" What could he possibly do?
He smirked. "This,"
And he leaned towards me.
