Chapter 13 - The Light of Amu's Radiance

Hinamori Amu

"Are you afraid?" Utau asked me gently.
I shook my head. "No, I'm Amulet Diamond right now. Who has the time to be afraid when you're Amulet Diamond?"

"Amu-chan~!" I heard Dia squeal.
Utau sighed. Not in frustration. Or sadness. She sighed as she smiled because she admired my courage. "You are truly the Joker with four eggs, I hate to admit."

"Hey you, many people in this world who can character transform, don't have the power to cleanse 'X' eggs. It's not because I'm a Joker, either. It's because, as Seraphic Charm you're lucky to be cleansing 'X' eggs. You have the power to do so, anyway. You try to beat me all the time. But you're already envied by others because of your power and determination, Utau. That quality of you, I admire," I confessed.

"Amu. . . ." Utau gasped in surprise.
I tightened my hold on her hand.
She looked at it.
"It's time to save people's hearts."
We had finally reached the giant 'X' character. Without any hesitation, Utau flew right in front of it and attacked.

"Angel Cradle!" she murmured.
Spreading her wings out, feathers began falling from nowhere. The giant 'X' character disabled and it became many small 'X' characters. Half of them yawned and went back into their cleansed eggs.

"Utau, go tell the others," I commanded.
"Tell them what?" She was clueless.

"That they won't be disappointed by tonight's show. By the light of my radiance."
She smirked. "So now you're ordering me?"

"Is that a bad thing?" I sneered.
"No. I look forward to seeing you singing, Amu," she answered and flew off.
"Ready, Amu-chan~?" Dia squealed.
"Yup."
"We'll take them away~" Dia began.

"By the light of my radiance!" I finished.
I summoned my weapon. Rings of light erupted from it, purifying the earth with its every touch.
Twirling around I screamed

"Starlight. . . . Navigation!"
Stars, ringlets, bright lights of all colors burst from it. It purified the 'X' characters successfully.

When I heard the gasps of my friends, I could tell my attack was different from the last time.
"However, the light of your radiance~"

"Hasn't finished shining," I giggled.
Landing down on the ground, I disabled my character transformation with Dia.

"Amu-chan, good job~" Dia high fived me.
"Amu-chi, that was amazing!"
"Yaya, you've woken up I see," I smirked.

"Amu-chi, is such a meanie," she pouted.
"Onee-chan! Onee-chan! Pretty! Do it again!" I heard Ami's cry.
Nagihiko, stood at the doorway of the gym, holding Ami in his arms.

Her eyes were twinkling. Nagihiko was wearing a proud smile. He put Ami down and she ran towards me.
"Onee-chan! Do that light again! It was pretty!" she cried.

"I can't Ami, it's too late now," I told her.
She pouted.
"I have to say, I'm impressed," Nagihiko said.

My eyes widened in surprise, remembering something from long long ago. "You saw that?"
"From beginning to start. Front row. I have to say it was a pretty good view too," he smiled teasingly.

"WAAAAAH!!!!!!!! NAGIHIKO!" I sobbed, launching at him.
We fell in the ground my arms around him. I sobbed into his tuxedo.

"A-Amu-chan?? What-What's with you?" he questioned me, startled.
Everyone behind was surprised too.

"Ever since, ever since, I got a fourth guardian character, I wanted to show it. I want to show it to you. And you saw it.

Whether, as Nagihiko or Nadeshiko
I didn't care. I wanted you to see that," I blubbered in his chest.
Relaxing slightly, he said "Of course, Amu-chan. I've always been fond of you. Whether as Nadeshiko or Nagihiko, I see you as the best friend in the world a girl could have. And I'm speaking as Nadeshiko, right now. Not as Nagihiko."

"Waaaaah! Nadeshiko!" I sobbed.
It was kinda embarrassing, after I stopped sobbing to confront the others, because of that emotional scene. It's because before Dia became an 'X' egg, I wanted Nadeshiko to see it and see me transform.

"Amu," Ikuto held out a hand for me.
"Ikuto?" I asked surprised.
"I'll escort you to the stage," he offered.
"Thanks!"

"Amu. . . ." he trailed off.
I tilted my head to the side. "What is it?"
"Good luck," and kissed me softly on the forehead before I got ready to sing.
